How to update Waho
Three routes, depending on how much you want to think about it.
From the listing
Open the Waho listing in Google Play. If an update is waiting, the button reads Update instead of Open.
From your app list
Play Store → profile icon → Manage apps & device → Updates available → update Waho.
Automatically
On the Waho listing, tap ⋮ → Enable auto update. Then you don’t have to think about it again.
Turning auto-updates on or off
For Waho specifically:
- Open the Waho listing in Google Play.
- Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
- Tick or untick Enable auto update.
For every app at once: Play Store → profile icon → Settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps. Choosing Over Wi-Fi only is the sensible default if mobile data is limited — though it's also a common reason updates appear to be stuck.
When an update won’t install
Work through these in order. Most update failures are resolved in the first three.
- Check free storage. An update needs room for both the new download and the unpack. Clear space if you’re close to full.
- Check your network. If auto-update is set to Wi-Fi only, the update won’t run on mobile data. Connect to Wi-Fi or change the setting.
- Clear the Play Store cache. Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage → Clear cache, then retry.
- Restart the phone. It clears stuck download queues more often than it has any right to.
- Update Google Play services. An outdated services component can block app updates.
- Cancel and restart the download. In Manage apps & device, stop the update and start it again.
- Reinstall as a last resort. Uninstall Waho and install it fresh from Google Play. You’ll need to sign in again — see the login guide.
Why keeping Waho updated matters
- Server compatibility. Live apps change on the server side; an old build is the most common cause of login loops and features that stop responding.
- Fixes. Crash and audio fixes arrive through updates, not on their own.
- Security. Updates from Google Play are signed by the developer. A sideloaded APK from a mirror isn’t, and won’t update itself.
This is one of the practical reasons we point people to Google Play rather than to APK mirrors — see the Android installation guide.
