Private chat
Private chat on Waho
One-to-one conversations away from the open rooms — text, images and voice messages, plus gifts.
Not everything belongs in a room with fourteen other people. Waho's private chat is the one-to-one side of the app: you open someone's profile, start a conversation, and it stays between the two of you.
The developer describes it plainly — “one-on-one private chats with friends, where you can send text, images, and voice messages”. The listing screenshot for this feature shows a conversation thread with text bubbles on both sides, a voice message with its duration, and a gift being sent inside the chat itself.
There's a second, separate thing that also gets called private on Waho: private voice rooms. Those are closed audio rooms rather than message threads — covered on the voice chat page.
What you can do
What you can send
From the developer’s description and the listing screenshot.
Text messages
Standard conversation threads, shown as bubbles with the other person’s avatar alongside.
Images
Photos sent directly into the conversation.
Voice messages
Recorded audio clips — the screenshot shows one with its length marked in seconds.
Gifts in chat
Gifts can be sent inside a one-to-one conversation, not only in streams and rooms.
Private voice rooms
Separately from messaging, the developer offers closed voice rooms for smaller conversations.
From any profile
Conversations start from a person’s profile — reachable from rooms, streams and the Moments feed.
Step by step
How to get started
- Open the profile of the person you want to message — tap their avatar in a room, a stream, or on a Moments post.
- Use the message control on their profile to open a conversation, or open your messages list if you’ve spoken before.
- Type a message, attach an image, or hold the voice control to record an audio clip.
- Grant microphone permission if you want to send voice messages and haven’t already.
- Use the block and report controls if a conversation stops being one you want to be in.
What “private” means here
Worth being precise about, because the word does a lot of work in app marketing.
- Private from other users — yes. A one-to-one chat isn’t visible in the open rooms.
- Private from the platform — the Play data safety section says data is encrypted in transit and that the app may collect personal info, app info and performance, and device identifiers. The listing does not claim end-to-end encryption.
- Screenshots and forwarding — anything you send can be captured by the person receiving it. That’s true of every messaging app.
- Gifts in chat cost money — the same in-app purchase rules apply as in streams.
