Waho in-app purchases, explained
The Play listing says “In-app purchases” in four words. Here’s what that covers in practice, and how to stay in control of it.
Waho is free to install — the Google Play listing is marked Free. It also carries an In-app purchases label. Both are true at once, and the second one is doing most of the work.
What’s actually sold
From the developer’s own description, the paid layer covers “exquisite gifts, luxurious cars, beautiful avatar frames, and decorations”. Two categories, roughly:
| Category | Examples | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Things you send | Animated gifts, cars | Over live streams, in voice rooms, inside private chats |
| Things you wear | Avatar frames, decorations | Your profile, your seat in a room, next to your name in chat |
Prices aren’t published in the description; Google Play shows the current in-app product price range on the listing itself.
Why it creates pressure
This isn't unique to Waho — it's how the whole category works — but it's worth naming:
- Spending is public. Gift banners name the sender. Contribution totals appear beside viewer avatars.
- Status is visible. VIP badges and medals sit next to names everywhere in the app.
- It’s fast. A gift is two taps. There’s no natural pause to reconsider.
- It’s social. Sending happens in front of an audience, in a moment, with a host reacting.
None of that is a reason not to use the app. It's a reason to decide your number in advance.
The three settings worth changing
- Require authentication for every purchase. Play Store → profile icon → Settings → Authentication → Require authentication for purchases → For all purchases on this device. This is the single highest-value change.
- Set parental controls on a shared or child’s device. Play Store → profile icon → Settings → Family → Parental controls, with a PIN only you know.
- Review your history monthly. Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history. Small amounts accumulate quietly.
If something goes wrong
Google Play handles refunds for Play purchases, subject to its own policy and time limits — start at Google’s refund request page. For anything only the developer can resolve — a purchase that didn’t deliver in-app — contact feedback@waho.live.
